TWO Lincolnshire athletes are in great form ahead of what they hope will be a great summer in Rio.
Zac Shaw and Hollie Arnold are both dreaming of representing their country at the Paralympic Games in Brazil later this year.
Both are starting to move through the gears as they step up their preparations.
Cleethorpes AC sprinter Shaw – who is visually impaired – won gold at an international competition in Barcelona at the weekend, clocking 11.43 seconds in the 100m.
And former Clee AC javelin thrower Arnold, who grew up in Holton-le-Clay and went to school in Louth, threw a season’s best distance of 39.88m.
Team GB’s squad for the Rio Paralympics will be announced later in the year – but both Shaw and Arnold have made sure they are doing all they can to put their names at the forefront of the selectors’ minds.
