TWO Lincolnshire athletes are in great form ahead of what they hope will be a great summer in Rio. Zac Shaw and Hollie Arnold are both dreaming of representing their country at the Paralympic Games in Brazil later this year.
ZAC Shaw continued his progress with a medal-winning performance in a high-quality contest. The Cleethorpes AC Paralympic hopeful was in action at the BUCS (British University and Colleges Sport) Championships in Bedford.
ZAC Shaw says he is ready for an exciting year after getting his season off to a cracking start in Dubai. Competing in both the 100m and 200m at the IPC Grand Prix, the Cleethorpes Athletic Club sprinter was aiming to show some solid form after a tough winter.
ZAC Shaw will board a plane to Dubai tomorrow, embarking on the first leg of a journey that he hopes will eventually culminate in selection for this summer’s Paralympic Games.
ZAC Shaw may have enjoyed his first taste of the big time at the IPC World Athletics Championships – but now his main concern is making sure it is only the start of his journey. The 19-year-old partially-sighted sprinter impressed in Doha, where he made the finals of both the 100m and 200m.
