ZAC Shaw bounced back from disappointment in Sunday’s 100m final to claim a season’s best in the T13 200m final at the IPC Athletics European Championships yesterday.
The Cleethorpes Athletic Club sprinter clocked 22.89 in in Grosseto, Italy on his way to finishing fifth, behind gold medallist Mateusz Michalski who finished in 22.07.
The result will come as a relief to Shaw, who admitted to being ‘disappointed’ with his performance in the 100m.
After finishing third in his semi-final to qualify, he finished seventh in Sunday’s final with a time of 11.38.
But after bouncing back with a solid display yesterday, Shaw will still be hoping that he will be selected for this summer’s Paralympics in Rio.
