The 19-year-old partially-sighted sprinter impressed in Doha, where he made the finals of both the 100m and 200m.
But the last thing that the Cleethorpes AC man wants is for 2015 to be his crowning glory.
He has every intention of pushing himself to the next level to make sure he gets the nod for the 2016 Paralympic Games, in Rio de Janeiro.
When Shaw arrived in Qatar for the start of the competition it was an intense 38 degrees celsius. But he showed ice-cold nerves to progress through the heats and qualify for the finals.
“I enjoyed the experience, ran a personal best and came sixth in both finals – I couldn’t ask for any more really,” he said.
“It was a dream come true to represent my country at such a big event.
