BEING selected to compete in the prestigious IPC World Athletics Championships wasn’t just a great moment for Zac Shaw – it was the best feeling he has ever had.
The 19-year-old visually impaired sprinter will compete for Team GB in both the 100m and 200m in Doha this month.
The Grimsby talent, who is a member of Cleethorpes Athletics Club, is currently in the Gulf state of Qatar acclimatising and preparing for his events.
He said: “It was honestly the best feeling I have ever had in my life. It was a dream come true.
“I have worked so hard for it and it was amazing to find out I had been selected.
“I feel in good shape. I am aiming to go there and set new personal bests – but the main thing is to enjoy the experience and compete to the best of my ability.
“Training has being going well and I have been gaining in confidence with each session completed.
